Oral Presentation (Invited by EWMA)

Talk duration

The talk duration was communicated by email.

Number of slides

No limit – depending on the talk duration.

File format: PPTX

Keynote files are not supported.

Slide size: 16:9

The EWMA template or another 16:9 template should be used.*

Important Information

* All fonts must be embedded in the presentation. Video files must be submitted separately, as they cannot be embedded in the presentation.

Company Logos & Brand Names

A company logo (of a sponsoring company) and/or a brand name may be shown on one slide only during the presentation. Please note that brand names included in the abstract title or text will be replaced with generic terms by the Conference Secretariat.

Conflict of Interest

A Conflict of Interest declaration must be included as the first or second slide. The EWMA template or another template may be used.

Upload at the Speakers Upload Centre at least 3 hours before your oral presentation.

Early Morning Sessions

Speakers scheduled for early morning sessions on Thursday and Friday are requested to upload their presentation before the conference or the day before their session.

Accepted abstracts will be published in the EWMA 2027 Conference App. 

Authors are also encouraged to submit their work as an article to the Journal of Wound Management.

Presentation or Display

Important Information

E-poster can NOT be uploaded in Helsinki.

E-poster that are not uploaded before the conference will not be available for display during the conference in Helsinki.

Accepted abstracts will be published in the conference app.

The e-poster upload link will be sent to all e-poster presenters at the beginning of April 2027.

E-poster Display

E-posters will be displayed throughout the conference on touch screens in the e-poster area in the Exhibition Hall. 

All e-posters will be available on all screens.

Important Information

Hyperlinks, animated images, animations and animated slide transitions are not supported and will not function in e-posters.

Product & Company References

Generic names must be used when referring to products or companies.
Brand names may be included as a reference at the bottom of the e-poster.

Advertising & Corporate Logos

Advertising and corporate logos should be avoided on the e-poster.

Sponsored Posters

Sponsored posters should include a statement such as: “This work has been made possible by an educational/research grant from X Company”. 

Important Information

E-posters that do not comply with the above policy may be removed.

Your e-poster must be in English or Finnish.

English-language programme

Abstracts accepted for the English-language programme must be presented in English.

Finnish-language programme

Abstracts accepted for the Finnish-language programme must be presented in Finnish.

All e-posters must be uploaded before the conference via a dedicated link sent by email.

Industry Symposia Presentations

Important Information

  • Speakers may participate in industry symposia for a maximum of two companies at the same EWMA conference.
  • Speakers are responsible for informing any company inviting them to speak in an industry symposium if they have already accepted an engagement with another company.
  • Companies are encouraged to ask invited speakers whether they have already accepted an industry symposium engagement with another company.
  • Each session room is equipped with a laptop and projector. Personal laptops cannot be connected.

Lectern microphone: No action required.

Pace & Clarity

Timekeeping

Timekeeping
Remind speakers of their presentation time limit and ensure that the session stays on schedule.
Pace & Clarity
Ask speakers to speak slowly and clearly, particularly for the benefit of non-native English speakers.
Discussion
Lead the discussion and invite questions from the audience. Ask participants to introduce themselves and speak clearly into the microphone. Repeat or paraphrase questions when needed to ensure that everyone can follow the discussion.
Comments from the Chair
Comments should be based on current knowledge and evidence. Be aware that a lack of comment may be interpreted as agreement with the information presented.
Journal Recommendations
If a presentation is considered suitable for publication in the Journal of Wound Management, inform the Conference Secretariat.

Feedback

No-show Presentations
If a presentation cannot be given or a presenter does not appear, use the remaining time for questions or discussion.

First-time Presenters
If one or more first-time international presenters participate in the session, the chair will be notified before the conference. Evaluate the presentation using the form provided in the session room and return it to the room hostesses after the session.

Presenter Feedback
Feedback is highly valued by free paper presenters. If time allows, stay after the session to discuss the presentation with the presenter.
