At the Conference
Accessibility
The conference venue is fully accessible for people with disabilities. The location of barrier-free toilets and lifts can be found on the service plan.
Accessible parking is available in the Bürgerweide car park next to the conference venue, as well as in the Hollerallee car park.

ATM
Mobile ATMs are located at the main entrance of Hall 4, Hall 5 and Hall 6.
In addition, permanent ATMs can be found by the entrance of the ÖVB Arena and the northern exit of the main train station.
Badges
All participants and exhibitors must wear their name badge visibly at all times inside the conference venue.
Cloakroom
A manned cloakroom is available for all participants free of charge.
The cloakroom is located in the registration area.
NB! Please note that the cloakroom is unable to store any items overnight and that cameras, laptop equipment, and other electronic devices cannot be stored in the cloakroom at any time.

Entitlements
The EWMA-DEWU 2026 registration fee includes admission to the full conference programme (including all EWMA, ICW, and WundD.A.CH sessions), access to abstracts via the conference app, a conference bag, a certificate of attendance, and all designated continuing education certificates.
Food and drinks are not included in the registration fee but can be purchased at the cafés in the exhibition area.
Internet / WiFi
Free WiFi access is provided throughout the conference venue.
Language / Translation
The conference languages are English and German.
Simultaneous translation from English to German will be provided for selected sessions.
If you would like to listen to the German translation, headsets will be available for collection at the designated distribution points outside the session rooms where translation is offered.
Lost & Found
Lost & Found items should be handed in at the registration desk.
Lunch & Coffee Breaks
Food and drinks are not included in the registration fee but can be purchased at the cafés in the exhibition area.
Lunch and coffee can be purchased at the cafés located in the exhibition area in Hall 5.
Mobile Phones
All mobile phones must be on silent mode during the sessions.
We encourage you to share pictures and experiences from the conference with colleagues – both in person and on social media – but please show consideration for the people in your photos before sharing them.
No Smoking Policy
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the conference venue at all times.
Smoking is only permitted in the specific outdoor areas signposted “smoking areas”.

Scientific Programme
Abstracts
You will find all abstracts in the online programme on the conference website or the conference app.
You can search for a specific abstract, browse a complete list of all abstracts, or view abstracts by session.
In the online programme, click “Search & Explore” to access all abstracts from the conference.
In the app, go to “Programme > Abstracts > Speakers” to find them.
Best Abstract of the Year Prize
The winner of the Best Abstract of the Year will be chosen by the EWMA Scientific Committee.
The committee will choose the abstract based on the abstract guidelines.
This means that the abstract must include relevant and interesting research, and should include the following:
- Aim: Clearly state the purpose of the abstract.
- Methods: Describe your selection of observations or experimental subjects clearly.
- Results: Present your results in a logical sequence in text, table and illustrations.
- Conclusions: Emphasize new and important aspects of the study (perhaps as a discussion section) and the conclusions that are drawn from them. The conclusions need to be clear and precise.
The value of the Best Abstract of the Year Prize is EUR 100.

Certificates & CME Credits
The conference is normally accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®).
To obtain CME credits, please record your attendance twice daily by scanning your badge at the registration area each morning and again in the afternoon (after 14:00). You will receive an email with instructions on how to download your CME certificate and your certificate of attendance at the end of the final conference day.
Further information will follow once the conference has been accredited by EACCME®.

E-Poster Prizes
The E-Poster prizes are designed to reward the considerable work that goes into preparing an E-Poster for presentation at the conference.
To be eligible for consideration, you must have an abstract accepted for E-Poster presentation at the EWMA-DEWU 2026 Conference. E-Posters that have been submitted/presented elsewhere are not eligible for the E-Poster prize.
Your accepted E-Poster will automatically be considered for this prize, provided that it has not previously been submitted elsewhere.
NB! E-Posters in the categories ‘Case Study’, ‘Post Market Surveillance’ and ‘Professional Communication’ are not considered for the prize.
E-Posters are evaluated on the following criteria:
- Visually appealing
- Well laid out in a logical manner
- Relevant and interesting content
- Clear conclusions
A panel of judges will score the E-Posters. The panel will award 3-5 E-Poster prizes.
The value of each E-Poster prize is EUR 200.
E-Posters (Electronic Posters)
All E-Posters are on display during all conference days on touch screens located in the E-Poster area in the exhibition.
E-Posters should be uploaded online before the conference.
Please check the programme for the specific time and screen of each E-Poster session.

First Time Presenter International Award
This award is designed to encourage people who have not previously presented their work at an international conference.
To be eligible for this award, you must:
- Have submitted your abstract to the EWMA conference through the online abstract system and followed the abstract submission conditions.
- Have your abstract accepted for oral presentation at EWMA-DEWU 2026.
- Must be a novice presenter. That is, you should not have presented previously at an international conference.
Please confirm that you are applying for this award when submitting your abstract online. Furthermore, you should send a letter to scientific@ewma.org stating that this is your first presentation at an international conference, and you should enclose a letter from your employer/supervisor/manager confirming that you have not previously presented at an international conference.
The value of the First Time International Presenter Award is EUR 450.

NB! Due to CME regulations, we are unable to display the company name or exact symposium title on the programme’s front page. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. We encourage you to use the search function to locate the symposia you are looking for.
Speakers Upload Center
Please bring your presentation on a USB flash drive to the Speakers Upload Center at least 2 hours before your session.
The Speakers Upload Center is located close to the registration area. Please see the signs or the overview map for the exact location.
NB! We do not allow the use of personal laptops for presentations.
A technician will assist you in uploading your presentation to the central conference server.
After the upload, a short test run will be performed to ensure that it works correctly and has been fully transferred.
Your presentation will then be available in the session room where your talk is scheduled.

PLANE ✈️
Bremen Airport (BRE)
Bremen Airport offers numerous directs flights from major European cities and is conveniently located just 7 kilometres from the conference venue MESSE BREMEN and the city centre.
At Bremen Airport the tram station is located directly outside the terminal building and will take you to the conference venue in 18 minutes.
Take Line 6 (direction “Universität”) and get off at the “Hauptbahnhof-Nord/Messe” stop (formerly “Blumenthalstraße”).
A taxi ride from the airport to MESSE BREMEN costs around 18 EUR and takes approx. 15 minutes depending on traffic.
Hamburg Airport (HAM)
If a direct flight to Bremen is not available from your location, a great alternative is to fly into Hamburg Airport (HAM).
From the S-Bahn station “Hamburg Airport”, you can reach Hamburg Central Station on line S1 every 10 minutes, with a travel time of just 25 minutes.
Several direct trains connect Hamburg Central Station with Bremen, with a typical travel time of around one hour.
TRAIN 🚆
Bremen Central Station is just a 3-minute walk from MESSE BREMEN.
Frequent direct trains connect Bremen with major cities across Germany.
Deutsche Bahn Special Event Fare
In cooperation with Deutsche Bahn, CONGRESS BREMEN offers an exclusive special fare that provides participants with attractive discounts on the regular ticket price.
Important information: Please note that the ticket no longer includes any invoice-relevant details. If you require an invoice, please enter your preferred billing address in the “Personal details” section during the booking process.
This travel special will be available from mid-December 2025.
CAR 🚗
Bremen offers fast connections to major motorways – including the A1, A27, and A28.
From the nearest motorway exit, it takes just 10 minutes to reach the open-air parking area “Bürgerweide” in front of MESSE BREMEN, which offers 2,500 parking spaces.
Simply follow the signs for “Centrum/Messe Bremen” from the motorway exits.

Privacy Policy
Sharing of contact details
The EWMA Secretariat will collect and store all personal data through the online registration system, and data will be treated by EWMA only for organisational purposes, particularly for matters in relation to the registration, monitoring of credits for CME (Continued Medical Education), as well as information about EWMA.
Each participant receives a name badge on-site carrying the full name of the participant as well as a QR code. Each participant shall consider that by accepting any scanning of the badge at any stand at the conference, the participant gives his/her authorisation to EWMA to transfer the data of the participant regarding his/her postal address and e-mail to the holder of the stand, including the authorisation to use said data for marketing purposes.
By registering for EWMA-DEWU 2026, you give consent to receiving information on EWMA activities and conferences for you or the participants you are registering. Participants can opt out of receiving any further information at any given time.
Disclaimer
In case of reasons beyond the control of the conference organisers, EWMA has the right to immediately alter or cancel the conference or any arrangements, timetables, plans, or other items relating directly or indirectly to EWMA. The participants shall not be entitled to any compensation for the damage that results from such alteration or cancellation. Furthermore, apart from any wilful damage or gross negligence committed by EWMA, EWMA shall not at any time be liable for any direct or indirect damage suffered by the participants, including consequential and immaterial damage, caused by failure to comply with any provision of this statement.
The information that you provide to EWMA will be used to ensure we provide you with products and services that best meet your needs. This may include the promotion of EWMA products and services by electronic means.
Photo/Video
Please note that video recordings/photos will be captured during the conference for use on the EWMA website and EWMA social media. Recordings will take place in session rooms and exhibition areas and will focus on capturing the atmosphere of EWMA. Recordings will not focus on individual attendees.
If you identify yourself in a specific picture or video after the conference and you do not wish it to appear on the website or social media, please contact the EWMA Secretariat and we will delete the picture or recording.
Sustainability
In line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), EWMA will promote sustainability in several areas of wound care to address today’s major challenges including continued focus on sustainable practices at the conference.
Choice of venue is important. EWMA has carefully chosen Congress Bremen as the venue for the 36th Conference of the European Wound Management Association, 6–8 May 2026, as the venue is known for its commitment to environmental and social responsibility.
Continued focus on sustainable practices at the conference includes:
- Using a sustainable venue as Congress Bremen adheres to the Code of Sustainability of the German-speaking event industry (Fairpflichtet)
- Using 100% renewable energy on-site including energy from on-site solar panels
- Using optimised heating systems and temperature control
- Working with local suppliers
- Phasing out the physical programme book - will be replaced by conference app
- Pocket programme is printed on FSC-certified paper
- Using electronic posters only
- Limiting paper handouts by providing QR codes to EWMA documents and publications
- Delegate badges only printed on demand
- Delegate badges are made from recycled paper - no plastic sleeves used
- Lanyards used for delegate badges are recycled
- No distribution of leaflets and flyers in conference bags
- Promoting recycling and ensuring proper waste management
- Using electronic, cardboard or pre-existing signage where possible
- No aisle carpets in the exhibition area
- Using reusable/recyclable carpets in the few carpeted areas
- Using reusable, recyclable and biodegradable materials in catering outlets
- Encouraging participants to use water refill stations to avoid plastic bottles
- Encouraging participants to use public transportation
- Offering free student day access to facilitate the involvement of new generations with few means in the conference.
