EWMA Young Wound Experts brings together early-career clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals with an interest in wound care. If you are looking to expand your network, learn from peers, or explore research opportunities, there are several activities around EWMA-DEWU 2026 in Bremen (6–8 May 2026) that may be relevant for you.
Ahead of the conference, you are invited to join an online pre-meeting on Tuesday 21 April 2026 (18:00–19:45 CET, Teams). The session will include a short introduction to the Young Wound Experts community, NextGen updates and experiences, an overview of opportunities and pathways, practical information about activities at EWMA-DEWU, and an interactive Q&A.
At the conference, the scientific programme includes a dedicated Young Wound Experts Session, followed by an informal social get-together at 19:15 to connect and continue the conversation. The programme also features a PhD Research-in-Progress session, which may be of particular interest if you are working on a PhD or involved in research.
If you would like to strengthen your clinical knowledge and hands-on skills, EWMA also offers two masterclasses on 5 May 2026 (the day before the conference) focusing on Atypical Wounds and Compression Therapy.
Finally, we would like to highlight the EAFWH 3rd International Programme, organised by EWMA’s partner association, the European Association of Fellows in Wound Healing (EAFWH). This advanced programme may be especially relevant for physicians (and colleagues in your network) who want to further develop an evidence-based approach to wound assessment and management, learn from an international faculty, and broaden their professional network.
