We are pleased to announce the release of the new EWMA Document “New Technologies for Tissue Damage Repair”, published as a supplement in the Journal of Wound Management.
This document provides an updated, evidence‑based overview of technologies for tissue damage repair, with a particular focus on dermal matrices. It builds on previous EWMA documents published in 2018 and 2023 and reflects new scientific evidence and clinical experience that has emerged in recent years.
What does the document cover?
- Pathophysiology of tissue repair and the evolving role of the extracellular matrix
- Evidence‑based overview of dermal matrices and their clinical use in tissue damage repair
- Emerging and advanced biomaterial and scaffold technologies for tissue repair
- Clinical applications and mechanisms of action relevant to tissue regeneration
- Regulatory aspects of technologies for tissue damage repair
- Market dimensions, economic impact, challenges and opportunities related to dermal matrices
The document is intended as a reference resource for clinicians, surgeons, researchers, educators, administrators and policymakers involved in wound care, tissue repair and regeneration.
