New EWMA President

During the conference in Barcelona, Dimitri Beeckman entered his new role as the President of EWMA. We have asked him about his expectations for the next two years and what he hopes to achieve during his presidency.

“As President of EWMA, my vision is to advance inclusive, evidence-informed, and ethically driven wound care across Europe and beyond. I’m committed to strengthening national and interdisciplinary collaboration, building global connections, and offering practical tools and education that support healthcare professionals, people living with wounds, and those who care for them.

We invest in the next generation of leaders, advocate for person-centred care, and promote sustainable innovation that improves outcomes, reduces economic burden, and shapes impactful health policy. By leading in technological innovation, translational research, and the ethical use of AI, we ensure that the future of wound care is not tomorrow—it is now.”
