This pathway outlines a concise, evidence-based approach to assessing and selecting debridement techniquies for wounds with non-viable tissue.

About

The EWMA Wound Debridement Pathway is a concise, one-page, evidence-based visual guide to assessing wounds with non-viable tissue and selecting the most appropriate debridement technique. It supports rapid triage, highlights clear “do-not-debride” situations, and helps healthcare professionals choose between different debridement options according to local resources and competencies.

The one-page pathway is part of the EWMA Wound Debridement Educational Tool Kit, which also includes an e-learning module to support correct use of debridement methods and technologies in everyday clinical practice and education.
