EWMA-DEWU 2026, Bremen

Are you a researcher working in wound care?
Join the European Young Wound Experts (EYWE) PhD Research-in-Progress Track at EWMA-DEWU 2026. Submit a short abstract describing your ongoing PhD project (not yet completed) and receive a grant to cover your registration, or your travel and accommodation (Value: 303 EUR). The top 6 abstracts will be invited to present in a curated session during EWMA-DEWU 2026 and will receive complimentary registration for the EWMA 2027 conference in Helsinki.
Who can apply:
- Currently enrolled PhD students (project must be ongoing)
- Any wound-related field: basic, clinical, implementation, informatics, policy, education
What to submit (max. 350 words)
Title; stage of PhD; background; aims; methods & current status; next steps; anticipated impact/translation; ethics (if applicable)
Optional: Supervisor name, figures, and pictures
Required: a brief impact statement explaining why the project matters for wound care (education, research, clinical/implementation).
Language: English.
Selection
Light peer review (clarity, feasibility, scientific merit, translational value) Outcomes: Top 6 abstracts invited to the PhD oral session on Thursday, 7 May. The remaining abstracts will be programmed as e-posters.
Grants & registration
PhD students of accepted submission can choose to have either:
- A free registration (Student registration, value 303 EUR)
or
- A travel grant, value 300 EUR. The travel grant is only awarded if together with a paid registration

Submit your PhD Research-in Progress abstract here, choose “Abstract submission” and choose “PhD Research-in-Progress submissions for EWMA-DEWU 2026”. Choose in the submission if you wish to apply for a travel grant (300 EUR) or a free registration for the EWMA-DEWU 2026 conference.
