The European Tissue Repair Society is a non-profit making organisation founded in 1988 that aims to promote knowledge and interchange between scientists, healthcare professionals, industry and other individuals that have an interest in tissue repair of all organs.
The Society has an annual meeting and a number of focus meetings each year concentrating on different aspects of tissue repair, ranging from basic science to clinical aspects of healing. The improvement of tissue repair as well as prevention of injury will be major challenges in the 21st Century and the European Tissue Repair Society has as its continued objective to contribute to these challenges.
The schedule includes presentations from invited speakers, selected abstracts, awardees (from the Wound Healing Society (WHS) and Dr. Suwelack Corporate Foundation), and an honorary lecture (Charles Lapière Memorial Lecture). Topics of the sessions are 3D Bioprinting, Biomaterials and Bioengineering; Inflammation & Wound Healing; Wound Healing Therapy Translation & New AI Protocols; Scarring, Fibrosis & Regeneration; Wound Microbiology & Biofilms; Stem Cells & Regenerative Medicine; and Wound Contact Materials & Protocols. The size and setting allow for high quality interaction between basic scientist, researchers and clinicians. There is good opportunity to meet and discuss.
To support the next generation of scientists, we included a Pre-Conference Day (Tuesday afternoon, September 1st), poster prizes and an ETRS Young Investigator Award (YIA) session. The best oral presentation in the YIA session will be granted the possibility to present their work at the meeting of the Wound Healing Society in the USA. WHS will pay for the registration, travel and accommodation of the best prize winner of ETRS, just like ETRS will pay for the best prize winner of WHS to present their work at the ETRS meeting.
