More and more patients have multiple aetiologies behind a wound, and one diagnosis does not exclude another.

There are also other reasons than venous insufficiency behind leg oedema.

Why is it important to have an exact diagnosis in lower leg ulcers?

  • To avoid limb amputations and patient’s death
  • To be able to plan the treatment right and not to expose the patient for wrong treatment
