Paulo Jorge Pereira Alves, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Health Sciences and Nursing of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Porto) and the Head of the Wound Research Lab at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Health Research (CIIS-UCP). He is President of the Portuguese Wound Management Association (APTFeridas) and an active member of several European research consortia in wound healing, digital health, and tissue viability. His main research interests include wound assessment and prediction using artificial intelligence, advanced biomaterials, and clinical innovation in chronic wound care.
