Description

The 36 year old woman had a stoma as a consequence of Crohn’s disease. In 2017 she developed very painful peristomal pyoderma gangrenosum –ulcers affecting her quality of life. The ulcers were treated first with systemic prednisolone and mycophenolate mofetil, then with biologic agents such as ustekinumab and vedolizumab. Finally, the ulcers healed 16 months later during adalimumab treatment and the patient has been in remission since then. More information about pyoderma gangrenosum is available in the EWMA document Atypical Wounds.

Finnish Description

Potilas on 36-vuotias nainen jolla on Crohnin taudin johdosta avanne.
