About the campaign

The Compression Therapy Campaign is based on reports from our network of national European wound management organisations, stating CT is generally not used according to available evidence and best practice recommendations. This means that

  1. CT is often not introduced, although it could be of great benefit to the patient,
  2. CT it is not used in the right way, or
  3. that CT is introduced too late.

This leads to suboptimal healing outcomes for patients with leg ulcers and represents a potential patient safety issue.

The campign aims to address this by engaging wound specialists as well as health care professionals with no specialisation in wound management.

The EWMA Campaign is developed in collaboration with a number of national and international organisations engaged in wound management, and is kindly supported by unrestricted grants from several wound care companies. These are listed on the campagin home page.
