Negative Pressure Wound Therapy: An Update for Clinicians and Outpatient Care Givers

This document aims to update the EWMA Document on Negative Pressure Wound Therapy published in 2017. The updated document will describe the available technologies and applications, and provide hands-on clinical guidance on the use of Negative Pressure Wound Therapy.


The document includes the following key features:

  • Guidance based on the newest evidence and clinical practice in negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT)
  • Highlighting the technological advances and new usage areas
  • Addressing challenges and opportunities related to the clinical application of new advancements in NPWT solutions
  • Exploring the role of NPWT in the provision of telemedicine services in wound management.

The document is published as a supplement to the Journal of Wound Management, vol. 25, 2.
