EWMA joins the European Network on Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Resistance (ENIPAR). Read the call to action

EWMA joins ENIPAR

To mark the II UN General Assembly High-Level on #AntimicrobialResistance, EWMA supports the European Network on Infection Prevention and Antimicrobial Resistance (ENIPAR).

EWMA is involved via the EWMA Antimicrobial Stewardship Programme, aiming to promote infection prevention and control, correct diagnosis of infection and appropriate use of non-antibiotic antimicrobials in wound management across all healthcare settings.

As #AMR stands out as one of the top 3 health threats in the EU, a new Call to Action with baseline recommendations urges decision makers to take timely action to ensure the 2030 targets are met. Successful implementation of high-impact, evidence-based interventions is key to strengthening the EU response to healthcare-associated infections and AMR prevention and control.

The factors that make this possible work best in combination and include the following areas: governance and leadership; surveillance; community and workforce awareness; IPC instruments; and medical technologies and tools.

We cannot afford to waste any more time!
