The EWMA Compression Therapy Programme has developed a range of educational resources and short clinical guidance materials to support healthcare professionals in the effective use of compression therapy in wound management. These resources aim to increase awareness of the importance of compression therapy, promote best practice, and provide practical guidance on how compression can be used safely and effectively to improve patient outcomes. The programme includes e-learning modules, webinars, masterclasses, videos and infographics designed for both wound care specialists and non-specialists involved in the management of non-healing wounds.

E-learning modules
The EWMA e-learning module ‘Compression Therapy in Wound Management’ offers a basic introduction to compression therapy in wound and lymphoedema management. It is free of charge to access.
To access the e-learning course, please ensure that you are logged in. Members of EWMA can use their membership login credentials. If you are not a EWMA member, you may either create a new profile or use your existing e-learning profile. An e-learning profile can be created free of charge here.
EWMA Masterclasses on Compression Therapy
The EWMA Masterclasses on Compression Therapy are held annually before the EWMA Conference. The next masterclass is scheduled to be held is held in Helsinki, Finland on 25 May 2027.
The Compression Therapy Masterclass is a 2-day course, including a self-paced online part with e-learning and readings, followed by a practical course dedicated to workshops, case discussions and expert-led clinical practice.
The in-person masterclass day focuses on:
- Hands-on compression workshops using a range of systems and materials
- Practical vascular assessment and interpretation in relation to compression
- Advanced hosiery selection and use in complex clinical scenarios
- Discussion of challenging real-life cases
Compression Therapy Webinar Series
The compression therapy webinars target healthcare professionals with limited specialisation in wound management. The aim is to raise awareness about the importance of compression therapy and provide information and guidance to secure the optimal use of this critical therapy in leg ulcer management.
The first series of the compression therapy webinars were held in 2022-2024 and are available on-demand in different languages. Find your preferred version below.
Upcoming webinar series
The working group behind the campaign is currently planning a new series of webinars in several languages (English, German, Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese) focusing on different subjects related to compression therapy in wound management.

Finnish Webinars
You are welcome to send us material that you would like us to share here. The material will be reviewed and endorsed by the responsible working group.
The working group will also develop new materials, to fill the gaps in existing materials.
