Partner in the United4Health Consortium (EU CIP)

Project period: 2012–2015

The United4Health project ran from January 2013 to January 2015. It aimed to exploit and further deploy innovative telemedicine services implemented and trialled under the RENEWING HEALTH project. All service solutions used in the project's pilot sites adopted a patient-centred approach and involved telemonitoring and treatment of chronic patients with diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or cardiovascular disease.

As the only organisation in the consortium representing clinicians EWMA contributed to the United4health project by developing an eHealth dissemination framework specific to clinicians and piloting it in the field of wound care through the dissemination of the results and evidence generated by the “Renewing Health” project on the subject of diabetic foot ulcers.

Documents describing the dissemination framework can be found here:

Among other things, this framework included:

  • Elaborating and publishing a EWMA guidance document on the use of telemedicine within wound care. The final document can be downloaded here
  • Hosting an annual eHealth symposium during the EWMA conferences in 2013-2015.
  • Involving representatives of the Cooperating Organisations in discussions about use of eheatlh in wound care across Europe.

The project was supported by the European Commission under the ICT Policy Support Programme.
