Valentina has an extensive clinical experience of managing patients with venous leg ulcers and atypical wounds. Her activities was focused on setting up her laboratory of non-invasive diagnostic techniques for wound and skin assessment including high-frequency ultrasound.
Efforts of her laboratory continue to be focused on all aspects of translational research in wound healing and chronic inflammatory skin diseases such as Pyoderma Gangrenosum, hidradenitis suppurativa, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.

I am a practising podiatrist I am a credentialled Advanced Wound Professional through Wounds Australia. My involvement with diabetes foot care and wound management spans over 17 years ranging from clinical practice, research and clinical teaching. My research interests are assessment and management of wound-related pain in lower limb wounds, diabetes foot disease management and prevention, the financial costs of treatment and the psychosocial impact of lower limb wounds and diabetes foot related ulcers.

Dr. Kirsi Isoherranen, MD, PhD, Specialist in Dermatology and Allergology, is an expert in wound care and skin cancers, currently working in the HUS Inflammation Center/Dermatology Clinic.
Dr. Isoherranen is EWMA Council Member since 2016 and currently EWMA Honorary Treasurer and Executive Committee Member. She is also the Secretary General of the UEMS Multidisciplinary Joint Committee Wound Healing and the Honorary Treasurer of EAFWH (European Association of Fellowship in Wound Healing). Dr. Isoherranen has research expertise in conducted clinical trials with numerous publications. Currently, she has four PhD students and ongoing trials in the area of wound diagnostics, atypical wounds and dermatosurgery.
