Meeting report from Joint BSAC/EWMA Symposium on Antimicrobial Stewardship in Wound Care
Antimicrobial Microbiology Resistance has long been recognised as a serious threat to the effective treatment of infection. This has arisen from the use and misuse of antimicrobial agents. EWMA is continuously contributing to the EU’s commitment to face the challenges of antimicrobial resistance.
Recently, Rose Cooper, Professor of Microbiology, published a meeting report from the joint symposium held between EWMA and the British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy (BSAW) at the EWMA 2017 conference in Amsterdam.
The symposium focused on wound care issues and antimicrobial stewardship programmes.
The meeting report is published in Wounds International and is available for free download here: http://www.wintjournal.com/journal-content/view/meeting-report-antimicrobial-stewardship-in-wound-management
