EADV Fostering Specialst Course: Wound Care

A specialist course in wound care for physicians is held in Zürich this October. It is based on the new UEMS curriculum in wound care which was elaborated in cooperation with EWMA.
The European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology is offering a specialist course in wound care for physicians in Zürich, 23-24 Oct. Chairman of the course is Severin Läuchli (EWMA President).
The course focuses on the recognition and treatment of the underlying disease of a chronic wound – the spectrum includes the common vascular ulcers as well as rare dermatologic diseases. Furthermore, local factors in the wound bed that inhibit healing have to be recognized and addressed with the adequate treatment, ranging from debridement, antimicrobial treatments, careful selection of wound dressings to advanced treatments such as skin substitutes. Many diagnostic methods and treatments will be shown with practical demonstrations and participants are encouraged to bring a challenging wound case for discussion in the plenum.
The "EADV Fostering Specialist Course: Wound Care" is based on the curriculum for physicians that EWMA developed in 2014. The curriculum was submitted for adoption by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), and was successfully approved in April 2015.
