Updated EWMA logo emphasizes renewal, collaboration and partnerships - in Europe and beyond

Monday 18 March 2024, the European Wound Management Association (EWMA) unveils an updated version of its logo. It comes as a natural extension of the development of EWMA, highlighting EWMA’s focus on partnerships in Europe and internationally, as well as EWMA’s capacity to renew, adapt and stay current in its approach.

Since its foundation in 1991, EWMA has been linking professionals with a passion for wound care. A core objective of EWMA is to be the leading umbrella organisation that citizens, patients, professionals, governments, health services and educational institutes come to for expert recommendations and resources regarding wound management in Europe – and beyond, via our partnerships.

Through annual conferences, publication of documents, education, advocacy projects and other activities, EWMA has been engaged in many partnerships with other associations across the world. The updated logo pays a tribute to that, as it replaces the European map in the logo with dots symbolising collaboration and partnership. The new logo also stresses EWMA’s capacity as a vibrant organisation that renews and adjusts to the requirements of today’s communication platforms, whilst preserving its iconic visual recognisability.

Transition period

Monday 18 March marks the official update, but the EWMA secretariat recognizes that there will be a period where both the old and the updated version of the logo will be overlapping in use.

The aim is to phase out all use of the old logo on documents, graphical material after EWMA 2024 (The EWMA 2024 website will maintain active with the old logo until after the conference) and at latest at the end of 2024.
