New EWMA Document published
The impact of patient health and lifestyle factors on wound healing
You can now access a new EWMA Document that sets out to understand the prevalence of risk factors among those with chronic wounds, as well as how these factors influence wound healing.
The document is divided into two parts: Part 1 covers stress, sleep, smoking, medication, illicit drug use and alcohol consumption, all commencing with an understanding of pathophysiology as it relates to wound healing, followed by a review of the literature as it applies to chronic wounds. Part 2 covers physical activity and nutrition.
This up-to-date resource for clinicians, policymakers and researchers is published as a supplement to the JOWM April issue. Access the document here: https://ewma.org/what-we-do/jowm/april-2022-vol-23-1
