The full Joint EWMA & Journées Cicatrisations 2022 programme features a mixture of topics important to the wound community.

Scientific sessions:

Key sessions

The programme features a mixture of new topics which are important to the European wound community in addition to topics that have been popular during previous EWMA conferences. The sessions deal with advancement of education and research in relation to epidemiology, pathology, diagnosis, prevention and management of wounds.

Streams

The full-day streams are particularly popular among EWMA conference delegates, as they foster more in-depth discussions.

Workshops

The workshops are typically held in a smaller setting than key sessions, focus sessions and free paper sessions. EWMA workshops are interactive and give participants an opportunity to address and elaborate on particular aspects of the themes of the individual sessions.

Focus sessions

A focus session is an opportunity to go into depth with a topic. The focus sessions take place in a smaller setting and typically have 1-2 speakers.

Meet the experts

A number of meet-the-experts sessions will take place in the E-poster area. Participants can listen to and discuss with leading experts in an informal setting.

Guest sessions

A number of organisations are invited to organise a guest session. This serves to increase scientific cooperation and networking with organisations active in thematic issues related to wound healing and management.

Conference theme

Organisation of care, pathways and coordination around complex wound healing

All health care systems need to handle a great number of complex wounds, including the primary types of non-healing ulcers as well as the rarer types.

As we are still struggling to establish clear pathways for the primary types of ulcers in many countries around the world, some wounds also requires special attention to ensure that patients get access to the specialist evaluation they require. Given the variations in health care structures and engagement of health care professionals in different countries, this is a complex task which is central to the provision of high quality care for our patients. At the EWMA 2022 in Paris, we will dedicate a special focus to the questions and solutions related to pathways, organisation, and coordination supporting the healing of complex wounds.
