Objectives
Chronic wounds are frequent in the elderly population, and typically wound patients have comorbidities that affect wound healing in many aspects. A holistic assessment and treatment of the wound patient is mandatory for success and also increases patient concordance. Inter- and multidisciplinary approach is strongly recommended. This key session provides an overview of the most frequent comorbidities in wound patients and recent progress in the treatment of these comorbidities.
