EWMA 2020: Instructions for oral presentation

Presentation format

  • All standard presentation formats (e.g. *.ppt or *.pptx) are accepted. No keynote format is supported. All presentations should be in 16:9 format. If in doubt, use a PowerPoint 2007 format.
  • Please include a Conflict of Interest declaration as the first or second slide.
  • Please note that you may only show a company logo (of a sponsoring company) and/or a brand name on one slide during the presentation.

  • IMPORTANT: Presentations attached to an e-mail cannot be processed.

  


Recordings

Most oral presentations should be recorded before the conference and uploaded to the virtual platform. In October you will receive an e-mail with a link to upload the recording.

DEADLINE for uploading your presentation: 2nd November 2020

Technical requirements for the recording:

  • Webcam or build-in camera in the laptop
  • Good Internet connection
  • Access to the audio of the laptop (we strongly recommend using a headset for better sound quality)
  • Make sure to have the laptop connected to the charger
  • Make sure to turn off all the notifications on the laptop
  • Please make sure to set the mobile phone on silent mode

   


How to record your presentation in PowerPoint

Please use the recorder function in PowerPoint to record your presentation with audio and video.
Please make sure to keep the time limit for your presentation.

In your PowerPoint presentation, click on the Slide Show tab, click Record Slide Show.

   

   

  • Clicking the upper half of the button starts you on the current slide.
  • Clicking the lower half of the button gives you the option to start from the beginning or from the current slide.

   

   

The “Clear” command deletes narrations or timings, so be careful when you use it.

During the conference

Before the conference, you will receive a link with your personal log-in to attend the session live for the Q&A session. You will get access to the “session room” 15 min before the session, allowing some time to ask any last-minute questions to the session technician and connect to the co-speakers and chairperson/s.

At the time of the session, the technician will start the recorded presentations. When all presentations in the session are done, it will be time for live Q/A with questions from the audience.

   


After the conference

All presentations will be available on-demand after the conference at the EWMA Knowledge Centre.

   


Upload link and FAQ’s

In October you will receive further information and a link to upload your recorded video. Included in this e-mail will be a link to Frequently Asked Questions and the possibility to book time with the technical helpdesk if you have any questions on how to make your recording.
