The objective of this document is to provide a synthesis of the current evidence on management of core symptoms in palliative wounds. It will support health care professionals in their selection of the best strategies for management of palliative wounds and to enhance patient outcomes, research and education in this field.

  • Synthesise evidence & identify gaps: Review current evidence on palliative wound management and highlight gaps in research, clinical practice, and education.
  • Support health care professionals: Provide recommendations for effective strategies to manage palliative wounds and improve patient outcomes.
  • Enhance patient care & symptom management: Focus on managing distressing symptoms in non-healing wounds to improve quality of life.
  • Advance research & education: Promote awareness, education, and research to address clinical challenges and improve palliative wound care practices.
