Curricular Framework

The Education Committee has designed a curricular framework that incorporates various aspects of wound management in a number of Education Modules.



The Education Modules are developed by members of the EWMA Education Committee and/or affiliated wound care specialists. All modules are based on a standard template but individually focused on a specific aspect of wound management.

Each Education Module specifies learning outcomes for knowledge and practical skill acquisition, for specific wound types or wound related topics. Thus, each Module, in separate, or a number of Modules together, provides a solid basis for a variety of education activities on wound management, including for the development of training courses.



The Education Modules are the intellectual property of EWMA.

EWMA is responsible for developing and updating the content of the modules. EWMA cannot be held responsible for or in anyway affiliated with an educational programme based on the EWMA Education Modules.It is strongly advised to look at recent clinical research and evidence in conjunction with each learning module.

An endorsement by EWMA of an educational programme can be obtained by applying for a review of the course and its contents. The review will be conducted by specialists in wound care from the EWMA Education Committee and/or affiliated wound care specialists.
