The Education Committee has designed a curricular framework that incorporates various aspects of wound management in a number of Education Modules.
The Education Modules are developed by members of the EWMA Education Committee and/or affiliated wound care specialists. All modules are based on a standard template but individually focused on a specific aspect of wound management.
Each Education Module specifies learning outcomes for knowledge and practical skill acquisition, for specific wound types or wound related topics. Thus, each Module, in separate, or a number of Modules together, provides a solid basis for a variety of education activities on wound management, including for the development of training courses.
The content of each module is developed using the following headings to ensure consistency:
- Epidemiology & Aetiology
- Anatomy & Pathophysiology
- Principles of Patient Care Assessment
- Risk Factor Management
- Local Wound Management
- Specialist Interventions
- Pharmacological Management
- Rehabilitation Services
- Psychosocial Aspects of Care
