EWMA Conference 2019

Living With Chronic Wounds

Introduction and aim

With this project EWMA aims to illustrate the experience of the wound patient in a number of recorded interviews with the patient and the health care professional(s) responsible for the treatment and care of the patient, as well as a representative of the health care institution. The most common types of non-healing wounds would be represented as Diabetic Foot Ulcers, Pressure Ulcers and Venous Leg Ulcers.

Objective

The objective is to produce a series of videos that will illustrate patients’ experiences and the various challenges and approaches to wound management experienced and undertaken by wound care professionals and their organisations.

In summer and autumn 2018, we will visit a number of wound care clinics across Europe to interview patient representatives and the health care professionals and managers responsible for providing their treatment and care.

The videos will be available for use in education, advocacy activities and various communication activities.
