CHRONIC WOUNDS IN THE FRAGILE AGING PATIENT - Joint key session of EWMA and ISTAP

Session Objectives


During this joint EWMA and ISTAP session, the public will have the opportunity to approach the questions of complex health issues in the elderly. Both clinical and economic problems will be discussed.
Regarding the skin, its physiology and physiopathology will be developed with a special insight on skin tears, a problem to which, regarding the demographics of aging, clinicians will be more and more exposed.

Aims for the participants are to:

  • Be made aware about the elderly’s medical specificities
  • Know about the costs generated
  • Know more on the skin biology in old age
  • Its daily clinical repercussions
  • Be aware and treat better skin tears
