Call for nominations and AGM in Vienna 25 May 2012
All members of EWMA are hereby invited to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the European Wound Management Association on Friday the 25th of May 2012 at 12.45 at Austria Center Vienna, Bruno-Kreisky Platz 1, Vienna, Austria.
The Annual General Meeting of the European Wound Management Association (EWMA) is the association’s General Assembly and will be held in conjunction with the EWMA 2012 Conference in Vienna, Austria, May 23-25th 2012.
Suggestions for agenda items must be forwarded before April 1st 2012.
Call for Nominations for EWMA Council
If you have been a member of EWMA for six months or more you are entitled to stand for council.
In order to stand for council, you must be nominated by a minimum of two existing members of EWMA. The two nominations must be made in writing by existing members of EWMA and must be in the hands of the secretary of the Council before Wednesday the 25th of April 2012. Nominations can be made by email (ewma@ewma.org) or letter to the Secretariat.
The CVs and photographs of nominated candidates will be presented at www.ewma.org from no later than May 3rd 2012.
This year there are five vacancies in council available for individual members of EWMA. Four of these are currently held by members of Council, who have come to the end of the present term, but they can choose to stand for re-election. However, these vacancies are also open to other members, who wish to stand for election.
Should nominations exceed vacancies, the election shall be by ballot.
Should insufficient nominations be received, nominations may be accepted from the floor at the Annual General Meeting; such nominations shall be voted on by those members present.
Being a member of EWMA Council
EWMA Council Members have a key role in the process of developing and guiding EWMA towards the common goal of making a difference in the delivery of wound care within Europe. The position requires active participation in the work of the association. Council members are expected to participate in three council meetings a year: one in March, one during the annual conference in May and one in October. In addition, there may be one or two further Committee meetings a year depending on to which role you are elected within your area of interest. Further more a New Council Member meeting will be held in June after the AGM.
All members of council participate in the work on a voluntary basis though all direct costs such as transport and accommodation are covered by EWMA.
