Arne Buss, German Wound Healing Society (DGfW)

When I started my career in the field of nursing I was working in a long term care facility during my civil service and decided to undergo training in geriatric nursing where I made my first experiences in wound care. Having finished training I decided to study nursing science (BA) at a university in Osnabrück, Germany. After I had become a BA in nursing science I moved to Berlin to take part in the Charité Nursing Science Master course. Since 2 ½ years I am working part-time as a research assistant for the German Society of Wound Healing and Wound Treatment (DGfW). My occupation comprises tasks within the frame of research projects, educational activities, congresses, and others. My kind of special interest, as far as I can say, is prevention of pressure ulcers. Thus the topic of the Master thesis I am about to finish these days is about pressure ulcer prevention rather nurses’ knowledge in PU prevention. Moreover I just took up a position as a research associate at the University of Applied Sciences Hamburg (HAW).
