EWMA Presidency Objectives 2011-2013

By Jan Apelqvist

We will make a difference!

The main objectives are:

  •  Develop strategies for multidisciplinary treatment guidelines and focus on the implementation of such.
  •  Contribute to the recognition of health economics and organisation of care are the “friend and not the foe” of the clinician.

How objectives are reached

Implementation
… through advocacy and dissemination of key messages to policy makers and administrators at the national and international level.

Patient empowerment
… by increasing the awareness and the need for a holistic approach and recognition of the patient as a resource and a partner in the treatment.

Strengthen organisation and management of wound care
… by recognising that new technologies are emerging, however, the logistics and the organisation of care needs to be in place in order to improve the treatment for the patient and by advocating that structured care and competency in providing wound care is essential.

Collaboration with Industry
… by considering that industry and industry representatives as an important collaborator with regard to reaching our objectives.
