Leader of Epidemiology, Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Wounds
Research line at the University of Alicante.
At this line, we have 13 PhD students working on differents fields (2 of them recently got their Phd level).
Particular research interest:
- Wound Healing Measurement and evolution. Development of measurement
tools
- Quality of life and venous leg ulcers. Development of HRQoL instruments
- Quality appraisal of chronic wounds related guidelines and Guidelines
implementation
- Biofilms and Chronic Wounds
- How much could be attributable to repositioning in pressure ulcer prevention
- Role of nutrition in wound Healing
- …

Why my nomination could be of interest to be in EWMA Council?
Me and Spain could be highlighted already in many ways:
- We think that Spain and one of the groups (GNEAUPP) that is at EWMA from
the beginning, could be represented at the Council
- My person and the Society that I represent Could work and collaborate in many ways. For instance:
 - The translation of the POG document into Spanish (and prepare Joint with
EWMA a presentation at our next conference in Seville 2012)
 - To design and conduct a health economic survey in Spain
 - To work in a description of the Spanish health care system in the wound
area or similar things
 - And also, all those projects which also might materialize in relation to EWMA 2014 in Spain
